Compared to last report: Trade activity and demand were moderate to good.
Retail hay demand were steady.
Dairy and Export hay demand were moderate to good.
First cutting out of the Sacramento Valley and North San Joaquin Valley
has started to move.
According to the NASS field crops, in the Sacramento Valley, heading
out in wheat fields progressed.
Some fields were disced around the borders for fire prevention and to
clean up weeds.
Rice ground preparation for planting continued, with some fields already
planted.
In the San Joaquin Valley, cotton planting continued as weather allowed.
In Tulare County, wheat, oats, and barley continued to grow well and
some fields were cut.
Cotton fields were prepared for planting, with a few fields already planted.
Alfalfa fields continued to grow.
Corn fields were prepared for planting.
In Stanislaus County, corn continued to grow.
Alfalfa, oats, and wheat were chopped and baled or turned to silage.
